1. You have to be really clear on what it is you want.
Grab a pen and paper and be super specific with your goals. You have to begin with a plan. You should be able to recognize what it is you really want. You have to get clear on your goals so you know where you are on the process of achieving them. Make sure you're including your family life, don't just make it about money because that's just one part of success. You have to set goals for each and every aspect of your life.
2. Learn what fears are holding you back.
Make fears your best friend. Know where those fears are coming from. Are those fears coming from within or from the outside world? Acknowledge that they exist and they are valid. Only by accepting your fears are you able to take on any challenge that comes your way.
3. Recognize the cost of inaction.
Take that opportunity to change your life. Now that you have corrected your thoughts and shifted your mindset, you have to do the work. Know that staying where you are now will not do you any good. It will not help you reach your goals. You have to keep moving towards your goals. When you act, you create. When you do not do anything, you disintegrate.
4. See the big vision, but be willing to break it up.
You have already identified your goals. You realize that as big as they are, it can be daunting. Break down that big vision into smaller pieces, tasks you can do everyday. Being overwhelmed by the magnitude of your vision will not help you get closer to it. It has to be attainable. You have to be able to achieve it with each step you make everyday.
5. Get an accountability partner.
Surround yourself with people who share the same vision and goals in life as you do. They serve as everyday affirmations for you to pursue your goals. They encourage you as you make decisions, for by pushing you to reach for your dreams, they get to push themselves too.
