Amplifying your income does not have to cost you an arm and a leg. I promise!
Let’s take a look at how I started my online business journey using 100% free tools.👇🏻
The freebies at your fingertips
As a new online coach your brain is flooded with questions:
How do I start an email list?
Where do I host my content?
What do I do if I’m not tech-savvy?
How many social media platforms do I show up on?
Where do I get the money to pay for all these software and platforms?
Where do I start?!
The thing that I always remind the members of my signature program, The Income Amplifier, is that you can leverage your expertise while keeping your costs extremely low - all because of the excellent freebies at your fingertips.
The best part is that all of these free resources are available through your phone. That’s really all you need!
During the initial launch of the Income Amplifier, I launched the whole thing using only my phone.
No joke, my cell phone was my business’ lifeline.
I used my phone to call and text potential clients about my offer, I used it to record all my videos and marketing materials, and used the Gmail app as my platform to deliver content.
The next time around I decided to leverage Facebook groups to find prospective clients. I even used a private Facebook group to show up live and teach my program.
After using Facebook I graduated to Zoom so that I could get that face-to-face connection with my clients, but even then I still used the free plan and invested zero dollars into my online group coaching platform.
The way I delivered content changed based on the needs of the program, but most importantly I was able to reach my clients without having to pay for any fancy group coaching software ✅
At this point in my group coaching journey, I was working with low cash flow, and was searching didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg to simply charge my clients and collect my cash.
This is exactly why I started with PayPal as my processor of choice. It’s something lots of us non-tech savvy folks already use in our everyday lives, and it doesn’t cost any money to set up or to send and receive payments.
Like any new business owner, I had a huge fear of appearing unprofessional, especially when it came to my social media presence. As someone who has never been tech-savvy, I was intimidated by how slick everyone else’s content looked and had no idea how to make that happen for myself.
At that time, if someone had told me to spend 250 bucks on a photoshop membership, I would have gone and done it! I would’ve done anything to ensure my content was on par with the pros.
This is why I am SO glad I stumbled upon Canva.
The free version of Canva was the perfect place to start when it came to creating social media graphics and client worksheets. I was able to produce quality content at no cost!
This was exactly what I needed to feel confident in my content when I was working with a low cash flow. 👊🏻💥
While I was working on growing my social media accounts I was also learning the importance of building my email list.
To be completely honest, I already had a Gmail account so that’s what I settled on for my email marketing platform. It was a no brainer!
Gmail is a free, easy to use platform that kept me in communication with my clients, many of whom are still on my email list to this day.
Friends, these are just a few examples of the free tools that you can leverage to host your online coaching program. The best part is that you probably already know how to use most of these platforms so you won’t have to worry about learning any new software.
And here’s the thing - now that I’ve scaled and skyrocketed my business, I’ve been able to generate some cash flow. I’ve since expanded my team and invested in more robust tech software, but I want you to know that I came from some seriously humble beginnings.
You are ready to build your business today if you leverage those free tools. And - once you’ve skyrocketed your business to that six-figure company of your dreams, paying for the premium platforms won’t seem nearly as daunting as it does right now.
Do not let your lack of start-up capital or tech skills scare you away from starting your own online coaching business. Some of the best software & platforms for online group coaching programs are free and at your fingertips already!
My favorite tech tools & software
Maybe you’ve started off using the freebies at your fingertips and you’ve got a little bit of a bankroll, or maybe you’re ready to invest in some smart systems and processors upfront.
Either way, you still might be lacking in the tech skills department.
Not to worry!
I want to share the best software & platforms for online group coaching programs that will help you amplify your income without needing a ton of technical know-how. All of my recs for group coaching software and platforms can be found here anytime!
Even though I started off using the free tools at my fingertips I eventually gained enough cash flow to leverage the tools in this list to operate my six-figure online coaching business.
Let’s dive into a list of what I believe are the best software & platforms for online group coaching programs!👇🏻
Once I had some cashflow, I decided to host my programs on an online group coaching platform called Thinkific. I have been with them for years and I love it! 🙌🏻
You can invest anywhere between $50 to $100 per month and you get access to an incredible platform. You even have the option of a starter pack at a nice low fee that allows you to increase your investment incrementally as you scale your business. As you grow, it grows with you!
It’s super simple to upload my digital content, connect with my community, and feel confident operating this platform.
I never considered myself a tech-savvy person, but Thinkific incredibly user-friendly and is my recommended group coaching software for 2021.
Something that I believe is a crucial piece of software for every online business owner is an email marketing platform.
This is your chance to get a direct connection with your community and keep them in the loop on all the ways your business could be serving them.
My current favorite email marketing platform is ConvertKit. Similar to Thinkific they offer an amazing startup package so your initial investment can be small and grow as your income is amplified 📈.
With ConvertKit your first 1000 email list subscribers are completely free, so it’s a great tool to use when you’re just starting to grow your email list.
It’s simple to use and has one of the highest conversion rates and email deliverability rates on the market. For a very reasonable price, I am confident that all my emails get where they need to go and deliver my message to my community.
Having a great payment processing system is so important. When it comes to money stuff, you want a system that you trust and that helps you stay organized.
My most trusted processor is Stripe.
Stripe is free to set up but charges a small transaction fee on the back end that you do have to factor into your pricing, but the fee is so worth it for the service you are getting.
Stripe makes it super easy to invoice your clients, process one time payments, or set up payment plans that suit your unique client relationships.
Having a mainstream platform with an excellent dashboard helps me keep track of all my financial matters in the easiest way possible for a very reasonable price.
I know I already gave Canva a shoutout when I was giving recommendations for free software, but I loved Canva so much I upgraded to become a paid subscriber, and I couldn’t recommend it more.
I’ve used my Canva membership to create the cover of my book, my supplemental worksheets, all my social media posts, and every single one of my YouTube thumbnails.
The twelve dollars I pay per month is so worth and I truly can’t rave about Canva enough! ❤️
Webinar Jam or Ever Webinar
I have been using Webinars as a key part of my marketing and sales funnel and my go-to programs for that are WebinarJam and Ever Webinar.
Both of these options are intuitive to use and have helped me quickly and easily provide high-value content and build rapport with prospective clients.
If webinars are your thing, you may also want to invest in a video hosting platform. I pay a small fee for a premium subscription to Vimeo to keep my webinar content separate from my marketing material that lives on Youtube. 🎥
G Suite is another one of the tools that I fell in love with the free resource and had to upgrade to get the full experience.
I initially started using Gmail and started paying about twelve bucks a month for GSuite to get access to more storage and the opportunity to brand my email marketing. Ready to uplevel your brand presence? Having your email connected to your domain is a great way to communicate your professionalism!
If you are already a Google user, you know how easy and universal their software is, so upgrading to G Suite is just an extension of that amazing user experience.
As business owners, we invest a ton of energy into promoting our content on social media, podcasts, youtube, etcetera, but we always need to be driving traffic back to the homepage of our website.
Having a solid website is so important because it is the only platform that is truly yours. You don’t own the other platforms, so make sure that you invest some time and money into a great website. My favorite platform to do that is Wix.com.
Wix was easy to navigate and gave me a ton of options in terms of how I wanted my website to reflect my unique business.
How much do I spend on online group coaching software?
Between my subscriptions to Thinkific, ConvertKit, Stripe, Canva, WebinarJam, Vimeo, G Suite, and Wix I spend about $500/month to operate my six-figure online coaching business.
This of course doesn’t include paying my team members, but as far as running a business goes, $500/per month is very reasonable.
The point is that even though I still don’t consider myself a tech-savvy person, there are tools out there that truly do for me. I was able to use free tools to grow my business to the point where I can invest a little more each month into the tools that suit my business the best.
If you’re still feeling overwhelmed and want someone in your corner to take you step-by-step through a proven online business blueprint, let me be that someone.

I built my six-figure business with nothing but my phone and the free tools at my fingertips, and I know you can too 🙌🏻
