Marketing Sales Funnel for Your Service-Based Business

Are you a service-based business owner who's sick and tired of the rollercoaster ride of finding the clients, serving the clients, repeat?

What if you could get a steady stream of new clients non-stop AND be able to automate a portion of your customer service experience so you can focus your energy on optimizing the personalized part of your offering?

Over the years, I've helped scale and skyrocket many service-based businesses. I've seen a common thread amongst service-based business owners that they believe their company is so unique that automating even a portion of it feels impossible.

But I'm here to challenge that belief and show you a simple and fun way to build an automated marketing sales funnel to get your time back, work less, earn more, and stop worrying about where your next client will come from.

The first thing we need to do is understand what a marketing sales funnel is.

Now, suppose you've never built a digital one. In that case, I understand how overwhelming and confusing it might be. Thankfully, whether you've made one before or not, if you are currently serving clients, you have a marketing sales funnel; it might not be optimized or automated. As your online business strategist, I want to help you create both.

First of all, a marketing sales funnel is your customer journey experience with three core phases a prospect goes through to becoming a paid client.

Phase 1: The Awareness Phase - This is where people who have never heard of you before discover that you and your business exist.

Phase 2: The Nurture Phase - This is where you begin to strengthen the know-like trust factor with your prospective clients, letting them learn more about you and your services.

Phase 3: The Purchase Phase - This is where your prospect books the appointment and pays you for your services.

Building a marketing sales funnel as a service-based business can include both offline and/or online methods to help your client navigate the three phases with ease.

I'm going to give you three scenarios with the pros and cons. One with all offline marketing sales funnel strategies, one with a combo, and the third one that's automated.

Scenario #1: Service-based business offline only marketing sales funnel

  1. A friend refers another friend to the service provider and shares a phone number.

  2. Prospective client texts service-provider for more info, and service-provider response

  3. Prospect books an appointment

  4. They show up to the appointment with a million questions you've already answered a million times with your other clients for the day. You barely wrap up one consultation before rolling into the following one to answer the same set of questions. After thoroughly answering their questions, your prospect decides not to work with you. Wasting your time and theirs.

Pros:

  • word of mouth marketing builds instant KLT Factor

  • costs the businesses owner nothing

Cons:

  • business only grows if previous clients promote you

  • consultation appointment could be a waste of time

Nothing is automated, and if you don't respond quickly, you could lose out.

Scenario #2: Service-based business owner combination of offline and online marketing sales funnel

  1. A friend refers another friend to the service provider and shares an Instagram account

  2. Prospects follow service-based business owner IG account to learn more about their services

  3. Prospect go to service-based business owners' website books an appointment

  4. They show up to the appointment with a million questions you've already answered a million times with your other clients for the day. You barely wrap up one consultation before rolling into the following one and answering the same set of questions. After thoroughly answering their questions, your prospect decides not to work with you. Wasting your time and theirs.

Pros:

  • word of mouth marketing builds instant KLT Factor

  • costs the businesses owner nothing

  • IG is easily shareable and easier to get in front of new people from all over the world

  • Automation sequences are established with an online calendar, no need to text/call back and forth

Cons: near daily effort to create content for IG is required

  • You're hoping they laid on the right post or reel at the right time that inspires them to take action to book the appointment, or there might be too many unknowns for a new client that they're still nervous about going through with the service even though they booked the appointment

  • They might follow your IG for ages and never book the appointment

  • You feel like a robot on repeat and wish there was a better way

What if we could streamline the customer journey experience, encouraging them to take faster action and do so with the utmost confidence?

Scenario #3: Service-based business owner online marketing sales funnel

  1. . Your prospect discovers you online from your IG account, YouTube channel, Blog, or Podcast

  2. They're invited to join your email list. In exchange for their contact info, you provide them with the first chapter or two of your book to help them get their mind right about taking the next step in your business's transformational experience. How To Know If _______ Is Right For You. (microblading, micro needling, etc.)

  3. Upon completion of your book, their auto sent an email campaign promoting your paid course that further educates them (ie. how to care for their skin naturally at home remedies or how to shape and pencil in the perfect brow)

  4. Now a paid client, who's been further educated about how you do things, they're eager and excited to work with and willing to pay more because they've been pre-vetted and know that you don't work with everyone

  5. They have a fantastic experience with you because they were caught up to speed about how things will play out and can more fully enjoy the process once face-to-face.

I've seen firsthand how having these two powerful digital assets, a book and a digital course, clicked into an automatic marketing sales funnel has skyrocketed service-based businesses overnight.
